Biafra agitator, Dr. Ngozi Orabueze, has said that Biafrans
are begging to exit Nigeria due to prolonged marginalisation and persecution of
Christians in the South-East region.
Orabueze, who is known as the Deputy Prime Minister and
Chief of Staff, United States of Biafra, disclosed this in an interview with an
American author and blogger, Robert Spencer, on Friday.
She posted the interview on X, where she adduced reasons for
seeking Biafra independence.
According to the Simon Ekpa’s second in command, Biafrans in
Nigeria have continued to suffer the issue of marginalisation and persecution,
which led to the breakout of civil war in 1967.
She explained that wanton killings of Christians in the
South-East region have become the cardinal reason for continued calls for
Biafra independence.
“Biafrans cannot stay in a country that integrates
terrorists into security agencies,” she alleged.
Orabueze said that Simon Ekpa, the Prime of USB, was
arrested by the Finnish government two weeks before the Biafra Independence
declaration in November 2024 on what she described as “flimsy excuse of
inciting terrorism.”
“Currently, our prime minister of the USB is being detained
and incarcerated by Finnish authorities on a very flimsy excuse.
“How can you incite people that are begging to leave? The
Finnish government arrested our prime minister.
“Recently, between December 2024 and today, we’ve had over
hundreds of Christians killed in Biafra land by the Fulani terrorists and the
reintegrated terrorists wearing uniforms.
“This is what the Christians have gone through in Nigeria
over the years; there’s no solution, there’s no comment from the government,
and everybody turns a deaf ear, and that was part of the reason why the United
States of Biafra has declared their independence because we cannot continue to
live in a country where the government has reintegrated known terrorists into
the police, into the military, and sent them down to the Biafra territory to
kill anyone that talks about Biafra.
“Biafrans are begging to leave; we do not want to live in a
country that reintegrates Boko Haram.
“It is our right to choose our leaders. It is our right to
go home and develop the Biafran nation. By the declaration we’ve done, we will
go home and practice our religion.
“We are pursuing our freedom to serve and defend our land
and our people.
“The persecution of Christians in Nigeria has been
troublesome; it has been very sad.
“A report in Washington DC declared Nigeria one of the
deadliest places for Christians to live, with a report of over 10,000
Christians killed in Nigeria,” she further claimed.
Orabueze noted that “Nnamdi Kalu is the leader of the
indigenous people of Biafra, our prime minister of the United States of Biafra
is Simon Ekpa. That is the relationship.”
She added that the expectations of Biafrans are to get
support from the US government.
“The expectations of Biafra are that we get support from the
USA; we are already seeing some signs of that, and we are very happy where we
are right now,” she stated.
