A former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, arrived in
Minna, the Niger State capital on Sunday evening.
Obasanjo immediately headed to the hilltop residence of
former Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB).
He flew in from Benin City, where he attended the 90th
birthday of the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion.
According to leadership, that at the residence of General
Babangida (rtd), another former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar
(rtd), and former National Security Adviser (NSA), General Aliyu Gusau (rtd),
were also waiting for Obasanjo.
The four elder statesmen were in a closed-door meeting for
about an hour, before Obasanjo left Minna around 6:20pm.
The meeting might not be unconnected with pressing national
issues that bordered on the current economic challenges.
