Angry youths protesting against bad governance and hunger
across the country on Tuesday reportedly stormed the Port Harcourt residence of
the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
It was gathered that while the protests have subsided in
Abuja, it continued to gain momentum in Wike’s home state.
The protesters gathered outside the former Rivers State
Governor’s mansion in Port Harcourt as the demonstration entered its sixth day.
In reaction to the development, the Nigeria Police Force
informed it has deployed more officers to the area to maintain order and ensure
everyone’s safety.
The demonstrators, on the first day of the protests, also
stormed the Government House, publicly embarrassing Governor Sim Fubara, who
had attempted to offer them money for bottled water.
