Many villages of Brinin-Gwari Local Government Area of
Kaduna State were openly preached to by members of the Ansaru terrorist group
as part of their activities marking the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
A source from the affected villages told DAILY POST that the
terrorists are persuading the locals to abandon formal education and respect
for constituted authorities to accept their kind of religion that detests
democracy.
DAILY POST recalls that the terrorists took time to interact
with the locals and urged them to acquire arms and launch a rebellion against
the government prior to two months ago when they went around communities and
shared candy and other edibles as Sallah gifts.
The terrorists reassured the locals of their protection
against bandits that may likely attack them.
The terrorists lambasted the President Muhammadu Buhari-led
administration, stressing that it failed to protect the lives and property of
the people while urging the locals not to fall for the call to effect change
through any electoral process in a two-page pamphlet.
The source explained to DAILY POST that the terrorists had
been preaching their anti-government and anti-democracy stance since Saturday,
Eid el-Kabir day.
The source added that the terrorists visited Damari, Unguwar
Gajere, Kakini, Kuyello and Kwasa Kwasa villages on Monday all in Brinin-Gwari
LGA.
He further explained, “During their propagation, the
terrorists, who are mostly young men, moved on dozens of motorcycles decked
with flags with Arabic inscriptions.”
According to him, the terrorists blasted the federal, state
and local government authorities, alleging that democracy is against the
teaching of Islam and they also called out Muslim clerics who called for
prayers for democratic leaders.
He added that the terrorists also enjoined the people to
ensure they source for arms and fight against the government.
He explained that the terrorists backed their claims by
wrongly interpreting some verses of the Holy Qur’an and prophetic sayings that
people would continue to suffer until they forcefully changed their leaders.
