Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno paid a visit to the headquarters of the International Co-operation in the Republic of Chad.
The security forces, mainly from Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria, have been involved in the fight against Boko Haram in Lake Chad, some of them in the northern part of Borno state and in other cities.
Zulum, who left Maiduguri International Airport on Sunday, January 19th, arrived in Chad ahead of his deployment.

Zulum was welcomed by the commander of the Joint Task Force, Major General IM Yusuf.
Members of the state legislature, whose constituencies are in the running, have been accompanied by Governor Zulum. The secretary of state and two other commissioners and officials are also on the trip.
Zulum and the commander of the army hold secret meetings with Boko Haram in Borno state. The details of the meeting were not disclosed for security reasons.
During the meeting, General Yusuf commended Zulum's visit, which shows his commitment to building peace in Nigeria and other affected countries. Governor Zulum thanked the army for their commitment and assured them of his support.
